Abstract:

The article is devoted to the famous skier - Vladimir Kuzin, who was born July 15, 1930 in the village of Lampozhnya Mezensky district of the Arkhangelsk region in the family of the fisherman. Future champions show their abilities in the school. Vladimir Kuzin participated first time in ski competitions when he was 16 years old. This statement brought success immediately and determined his fate. VS Kuzin has become the first Russian athlete to be awarded the "Big King´s Cup" and get the title "King of skis", received from the hands of Swedish King Gustav VI, thinned the ranks of the Finnish, Swedish and Norwegian champions. He was the first athlete in Russia, who brought to our national team many victories as an athlete and as a mentor. His students occupy the first places in the competitions nowadays.. In 1988. on his homeland for the first time it was held ski race for the prize of V.S. Kuzin. Each year, dozens of athletes come in Mezen to start. "Kuzinskie ski race" - is the first step in the sport for many sportsmen.
